KM Technical Writer Job Description
Background
Client is implementing a global Knowledge Management process for IT. The key activities for a successful deployment are to identify existing sources of knowledge, reformat the knowledge into one template and then store the knowledge in a repository.
Purpose:
Manage the in-take of Knowledge Articles for the KM repository and ensure consistency in format and style of Knowledge Articles
Requirements:
Responsibilities:
• Review Knowledge Article submissions for relevancy.
• Review Knowledge Articles to ensure they adhere to format templates.
• Review Knowledge Articles to ensure they meet style guidelines, editing where necessary
• Store approved Knowledge Articles in the KM repository. Test access to the articles.
• Manage the inventory of Knowledge Articles against the submitted articles. Follow up with owners of the knowledge.
• Create Knowledge Articles in support of the Global Performance Improvement group.
• Write articles for weekly/monthly IT Communications newsletter and blog to communicate the message of Knowledge Mgt to the organization.
• Work with Subject Matter Experts of knowledge areas to write and review Knowledge Articles.
• Must possess strong written and people skills
• Must have an eye for detail and be able to ensure a consistent look and feel in documents with differing topics and templates
• Must have experience with SharePoint libraries and lists
