Job Description:
The Senior Programmer Analyst is responsible for E2KDW and SCS-Customer Repository applications. The successful candidate will be involved with design, development, support, and maintenance of both applications. Off-hour application support on a rotating schedule is required.
The candidate must be able to analyze business processes and related code/scripts and perform Feasibility, Functional Design, and Detailed Design Analyses. Excellent oral and writing communication skills, teamwork, ability to work under pressure, professional approach, and a positive attitude are a must.
The Candidate must be capable of the following:
Light supervision on project task work.
Intermediate level knowledge of SQL query development and execution
Intermediate level knowledge in creation and execution of shell, Perl & batch scripts
Basic knowledge of Internet technologies and protocols (e.g. SFTP, HTTP, SSH, RDP)
General knowledge of all Software Development Lifecycle.
General knowledge of I*net technologies, firewalls, secure protocols, log monitoring, application vulnerability testing.
General knowledge of security technologies and methods as they apply in an enterprise environment.
Excellent oral and written communication, planning, organizing, decision-making, problem solving, accountability, initiative, analysis and judgment skills to assess and recommend solutions to keep project focused on its objectives
The candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or the equivalent in education with 3-5 years in system analysis and applications programming development work experience.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.
No relatives who are employed by UPS or any of its subsidiaries.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/related discipline or the equivalent in education and work experience.
3-5 years database programming experience with Oracle.
Off-hour application support on a rotating schedule
