Senior Product Marketing Manager
Job Description:
Purpose of Position: The Senior Product Marketing Manager will partner with the Product Management team to develop and lead strategic Marketing initiatives to meet revenue goals for Wireless Generation’s innovative educational software products and services. The role involves analysis of unique product value, customer needs, competitive offerings, and industry context.
The role includes leading a systematic approach to define value propositions and focused market positioning for key market segments based on insights drawn from market research, intelligence gathered via customer-facing channels such as sales pipeline calls, and collaboration with product managers, account managers and customer care. The Senior Manager align marketing strategies with key stakeholders and partner with the Marketing Communications team to integrate key messages across channels, driving execution of successful marketing collateral, campaigns and events.
We’re looking for the kind of person who enjoys the challenge of applying core marketing skills in an entrepreneurial culture while implementing new processes that enable the company to maintain a fast pace of growth. This is a new position intended to focus on strategy and improve awareness and consistency of messaging across the company and in the marketplace.
Responsibilities of Senior Product Marketing Manager:
60% Create value propositions and positioning for core products and services
Partner with Product Management to complete analysis of the 3 C’s
Develop focused positioning for key market segments
Manage stakeholder alignment process for key strategic decisions
Create key messages, elevator pitches, talking points,FAQs, proof points, collateral, case studies and white papers in line with Wireless Generation brand
30% Ensure all external marketing output is aligned to business goals and corporate brand
Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure clear, consistent communication of core value across all customer touch points
Support the Marketing Communications team in developing effective advertising, customer communications, promotions, and lead generation initiatives in line with strategy
Develop impactful activation strategies for national conferences and events
10% Proactively communicate product value and positioning strategies across internal teams
Lead product-specific interdepartmental initiatives
Support effective Sales training
Translate critical software development release notes for customer facing teams
Requirements of the Senior Product Marketing Manager:
BA/BS degree, MBA or 5+ years of equivalent experience in a B2B or B2G setting
Knowledge of or ability to quickly develop deep understanding of the K-12 marketplace and our company’s position within it
Strategic marketer with a passion for the customer and an analytical mindset
Outstanding problem solving skills and demonstrated success managing projects of varying size, complexity and length in a fast-paced environment
Outstanding communication skills, including ability to distill complex issues quickly and summarize key points & implications
Strong collaboration skills with an outstanding track record in facilitating alignment across stakeholders and teams.
