HVAC Electrical Plumbing Mechanic
Position Objective
This position carries significant responsibilities including the duties of maintaining safety and comfort for the building's occupants. This requires the commitment, skill and professional demeanor of a dedicated self-starter and a team player. The nature of this position regularly requires emergency response after hours. All maintenance mechanics are required to respond to emergency calls 24 hours a day and will be issued pagers at no cost. Frequently repairs will require staying past regular quitting time to complete assignment. All extra hours will be compensated for in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
Position Accountabilities
This position will be responsible for maintaining, installing and repairing existing or new HVAC, electrical or plumbing equipment and also perform general carpentry , sheetrack and plastering , flooring, doors locks as well as others related duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements:
Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
Skills: • Formal education from an accredited technical school. • Five years previous hands on experience • Knowledge of all aspects of building maintenance and repairs: Plumbing, electrical, HVAC, swimming pool operation, carpentry, dry wall.
Hours of Work: Initial Training Period will be Monday-Friday 9am-6pm Once training is completed the job holders will work. Position 1 -- Tuesday to Thursday 8am to 5pm , Friday to Saturday 3pm to 12am Position 2 - Tuesday to Saturday 3pm to 12 midnight. Position 3 -- Tuesday to Saturday 11pm to 8am
Position requires periodic shift change but will receive sufficient notice prior to change.
