ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Candidates should be:
Ø Highly organized, with strong communication, and consultative experience and skills
Ø Able to work in high-profile, stressful, customer environment
Ø Able to work flexible schedules, evenings and weekends, according to project requirements
Ø Able to travel minimum of 50% or as needed according to customer project requirements
Ø Able to deliver small projects with minimal oversight and direction, having a history of working unsupervised while achieving required goals.
Ø Able to work as a member of a team on large projects taking direction from a project manager and lead architect. Must work well in a team environment; be highly motivated and aggressive at problem solving.
Ø Able to provide technical support to the presales teams for services and product support.
Ø Able to demonstrate ability to perform troubleshooting in complex engagements during the course of past engagements.
Ø Able to conduct self-study and independent work in lab facilities to increase job related knowledge and skills.
Ø Able to understand network solution life-cycle from inception to operation.
Ø Able to understanding of engagement methodologies for delivering large projects.
Ø Able to obtain related technical certifications as needed.
Ø Able to communicate effectively in written form - strong technical documentation skills.
Ø  Proficient with Microsoft Office products, especially Visio and Word [samples of prior written documentation required].
Job Requirements :

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Candidate should have:
Ø 3+ years direct experience with HP ProCurve Networking products particularly high-end switches, additional ProCurve products encouraged though not required.
Ø 2 years direct experience with another networking product - 3Com, Cisco, or Foundry Networks.
Ø Must have a CCNP certification with systems and network management knowledge.
Ø An understanding of at least one other competing networking product though may not be proficient, is required.
Ø Should have a BS degree (Computer Science or Engineering preferred though not required) or equivalent education and work experience.
 
 
 
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITY
Candidate will be:
Ø Responsible for delivering small projects on time and within budget with minor oversight.
Ø Responsible for delivering on larger projects with greater oversight, still responsible for delivering on time their assigned tasks.
Ø Required to develop project plans for use by project managers on small projects.
Ø Required to provide input and tasks (description, breakdown, duration) on larger project plans for lead architects on larger projects.
Ø Design solutions with sales team to meet business needs of customers.
Ø Required to develop and maintain internal intellectual property. This will be a combination of White Papers, Subject Matter Guides based on expertise, and Project Briefs.
Ø Understand needs of the Sales team and create supporting documentation or tools to better assist the sales team.
Ø Required to occasionally help with pre-sales activities including preparing and delivering presentations.
Ø Required to review statements of work and provide input for development of SOW(s).
Ø Maintain certifications relevant to job role and as required as Cisco partnership requirements.
Ø Serve as technical authority for voice and video related technologies.
Ø Stay current with new technologies and innovations and recommend adoption of new technologies.

Proven administration skills in some or all of the following supporting products or industry equivalents: (Candidate should be conversant with most of these networking protocols and standards.)
ü Local Area Network switches (experience w/HP ProCurve switches required, other hardware such as 3Com, Cisco encouraged).
ü DNS/DHCP (either UNIX or Windows based experience).
ü Wide Area Network routing protocols - should understand and be able to implement BGP or OSPF. Should be able to articulate the differences and usefulness of each.
Understanding of networking integrations: should understand how to integrate these into network products. (Candidate does not need to be proficient as an administrator in any of these products but should understand how to work with them.).
ü RADIUS/TACACS+
ü Firewalls
Understanding of Operating Systems (Candidate must be proficient in at least one of these and competent in at least one other.)
ü Windows Server 2008/2003/2000
ü RedHat Linux (or other Linux equivalent)
ü UNIX: HP-UX, AIX or Solaris.

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE
Candidate should have experience and/or knowledge of the storage products listed below and some knowledge of integration without actually being an administrator.
Storage Products (Candidate must have a capable understanding in some combination of the below products. Certification not required, but certainly encouraged. Ideally would have an understanding of at least one from each category)
ü FC Storage Area Networks (Cisco, Brocade)
ü iSCSI Storage Area Networks (Cisco, ProCurve, 3Com)
