Military Sales Account Executive

Description:

Our client is a world leader in the manufacturer and innovation of industrial fire suppression equipment and services including commercial pumps, hydrants, valves, compressed air foam delivery systems, etc.  This stable, profitable company has been serving the firefighting community for over 125 years and is known for exceptionally high quality, durable products and rapid delivery.

 

Steady growth and market expansion has created an immediate opening for a successful sales person with experience selling to the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD).  This is new key business development position that will focus on sales to United States military branches like the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, Navy and other government entities like the U.S. Forest Service and Dept of the Interior.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and implement all sales and marketing strategies and activities focused on the military and government business segment
  • Develop and maintain relationships with government, military, and subcontractor business segments.
  • Identify and bid on projects following required procurement process
  • Develop and maintain reporting system to keep management abreast of activities
  • Present input on new product development

 

Requirements:

  • Must have prior successful experience selling to the DOD (U.S. Department of Defense), military branch or related subcontractors
  • Must possess knowledge of the US Government procurement process, project bidding, RFP/ RFI /RFQ’s, contacts and negotiations and appropriate certifications
  • Must be able to work in a fast passed autonomous environment with little supervision
  • Engineering/Technical/Mechanical aptitude required
  • Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering and MBA a plus
  • Ability to travel up to 45 percent
  • Must currently reside in the Twin Cities metro area or surrounding communities reporting to a South Saint Paul office location
