Installation Technician Specialist
Title: Installation Technician Specialist Location: NJ-Morristown Honeywell has an excellent opportunity for an Installation Technician! Honeywell Building Solutions is looking for an Installation Technician in the Morristown, NJ area. The Installation Technician will install and/or commission Honeywell Systems (Building Automation/DDC, Fire, and Security) in a commercial, process, or institutional environment. Honeywell Building Solutions (HBS) is a strategic business unit in Automation and Control Solutions (ACS). HBS installs and maintains the systems to help keep buildings and facilities safe, secure, comfortable and cost-efficient, and is a leading provider of energy efficiency solutions worldwide. HBS specializes in service of critical building systems, including heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), building automation, fire, security and energy management.
Responsibilities:
* Installation and /or commissioning of Honeywell Control Systems * Interfaces with sales, customers, contractors, vendors, Honeywell engineers, estimators, Project Managers, other technicians, Supply management. * Responsible for commissioning start-up and checkout of systems using the software provided by engineering for large jobs (long cycle time) or software possibly written by themselves in small jobs (short cycle time jobs.) * Understand and execute all Project Velocity guidelines for software checkout. This would include checking systems, point check via software SOPs, sample checking VAVs, unitary controls based on suggested sample size. * Complete tech work under estimated hours and within allocated time frame. * On small jobs (short cycle jobs) be responsible for complete ownership of project in field, coordinate with subcontractors/vendors as applicable and work with customers to obtain completion sign-off. * Be responsible for Honeywell equipment at field site, its handling if required and correct installation by subcontractors. Also be responsible for Honeywell assets such as tools, proprietary software and database at job site. * Ensure that configuration management policy is followed. This involves back up of all changes on an ongoing basis and final archiving of hardware and software to the Honeywell server (via ADEPT or other configuration management software.) * Participate in Sales support activities such as surveys, application selection and possibly hardware engineering for bid jobs to support our growth initiatives.
Basic Qualifications :
* Associate's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or IT or in lieu of degree two years of Automation Controls experience * Valid Driver's License * 1 year experience with Microsoft Office/Windows
Additional Qualifications:
* Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and diagrams * Knowledge of HVAC systems, Control Systems, Mechanical System operations and building facilities * Diagnostic and Troubleshooting skills * Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and get things done in a timely and effective manner * Communication skills sufficient to deal with co-workers, customers and contractors * Ability to work as a member of a team * Ability to work independently and accomplish all commissioning tasks * Coaching and mentoring skills to guide Associate Install Technical Specialists * Working towards MCSE and other Network certifications desirable
