Major financial services firm located in Midtown, Manhattan is seeking a Project Manager for its e-channel solutions team. The team is within the Communications and Branding department. It strategically advises internal clients on all aspects of communications and branding, and executes marketing and communications solutions for the business in all media, including: web, e-marketing, video, product advertising, events, collateral, and other digital client communications.
Within the team, the E-Channel Solutions function is responsible for: The firms on-line strategy and implementation On-line visual design guidelines for internet, intranet, email marketing, trading applications and mobile applications Review and approval processes for web and e-marketing Maintenance and ongoing development of the public web pages, including microsites, online advertising, search engine optimization, web-usage statistics The intranet presence: usability and IA advice, strategic input into future platform developments Project management of key marketing, communications and Senior Management sites.
The role and right candidate: Managed by, and working closely, with the Head of E-Channel Solutions in the UK, this US-based role will have ownership of defined tasks and projects for the Investment Bank audience based in the region. This will cover intranet and internet, and e-Marketing channels such as electronic invites and e-promotional items. A strong and proven track record in web communications, project and client relationship management is a requirement.
The ability to work autonomously, to show initiative and to escalate arising questions or issues on a timely-basis, are imperatives. As the role sits remotely from the London-based line manager, being self-motivated and having a strong desire for self-development will also be success factors. Operating out of New York and Stamford, this role will require liaison and co-ordination with regional colleagues on projects of both a regional and, in some instances, global nature.
The right candidate will have a good understanding of, and the ability to work with, web technical processes and teams, and possess very strong organizational skills. They will be focused on delivering online solutions of the highest standard. Strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly, accurately and confidently (both verbally and in writing) are essential. Appreciation of user interface design will support the right candidate. Experience of working in the financial services industry will be an advantage.
A positive can do attitude, the ability to work successfully both as part of a team and independently, and demonstrating initiative are requirements along with delivering solutions. The role will involve extensive cross-functional interaction within Marketing, Internal Communications and direct exposure to internal clients. The right candidate requires the ability to raise their own profile locally, and promote our service offering and generate project work. Building effective relationships within the E-channel Solutions team, Business Marketing, key partners such as the internal New Media and IT Development teams and among clients, is critical to the roles success and will bring the right candidate immediate accountability and visibility.
Responsibilities: Working closely with line manager, regional account managers and internal partners including coordinating the build and launch of key online projects across the IB intranet, external website, and digital marketing channels:
Web Monitoring and planning regional pipeline of web and e-comms projects and enquiries; working with internal and external resources to implement solutions. Managing relationship with development, support and New Media teams, ensuring web development needs are captured, taken action, prioritized, where necessary escalated and then delivered. (For example, tools including, content publishing, usage metrics, and intranet sites.) Acting as stakeholder and contact, advise on approach and solutions for Marketing web project requirements e.g. Business Marketing online campaigns (working with off-shore and regional IT Development teams to document requirements, investigate technical options and produce specifications.) Providing guidance to site owners/internal clients on intranet/internet development, information architecture, and usability, prior to build and launch. Acting as point person for e-marketing guidelines and templates; when required, conduct training sessions for development partners and Marketing department. Assisting line manager in analyzing and proposing improvements to internal process and procedures for Web function. Ensure Operational and Reputational Risk standards are met. Assisting internal clients through the approval processes required for both internal and external sites. Co-coordinating business UAT, business readiness (e.g. training) in the region with IT support teams. Supporting any Operational Risk requirements in conjunction with IT support teams and Communications and Marketing team members. Day-to-day management of web enquiries, web metric reporting, site feedback.
E-Marketing Partner with e-Marketing Manager to educate and advise internal clients on usage of the IBs e-mail marketing tool, Silverpop (used for direct marketing and surveys). Build technical knowledge of how it works, reporting capabilities and keep abreast of developments in this space. Keeping abreast of research and developments within the digital space; supporting line manager to input on future strategy and application of newer communication vehicles and technology, e.g. webcasts, social media. Managing relationships with external vendors used for project work, preparing standard Short Form Agreements.
These responsibilities will be handled in conjunction with the London-based E-marketing Manager, and Web Project Managers in E-Channel Solutions, UK. Required competencies: Graduate or equivalent qualifications with 3-5 years of working in, preferably, financial services or business-to-business web/e-marketing. Proven knowledge of the web industry: in particular a good understanding of Information Architecture (and how it relates to effective web comms solutions and usability); accessibility through technology; and an a proven interest in technology and branding communications. Strong organizational, project co-ordination and client management skills. An ability to prioritize projects and tasks is imperative. Proven workflow management skills, log keeping and management reporting. Excellent client relationship skills; persuasive and able to win others round to own way of thinking, and to effectively manage clients expectations. A fluent, accurate and confident communicator verbally, visually and in writing (the candidate will be in regular contact with both individuals within the business as well as IT and development teams). Commitment to on-going personal development in terms of technical, marketing/communications and project management expertise. Extensive knowledge of and literacy in Internet / online marketing theory and trends. Previous experience of managing project teams would be an advantage.
Web Content Editor experience e.g. Content Management Systems; FrontPage, Dreamweaver; e-Marketing software; Web Analysis software; Microsoft Project; Visio is preferred.
