Key Responsibilities
Plan, administer and supervise the drilling engineering team to design and implement ongoing drilling and completion activities.
perform all aspects of drilling requirements and optimize drilling activities to implement effective cost savings practices and maximize value creation.
Engineer the design of wells and monitor the work of the drilling crew on site.
Design and selecting the best equipment required for the work.
Draw up drilling programs, and take into account the desired production flow rates.
Obtain and compile relevant data, carry out analysis on site and recommend whatever action is necessary.
Carry out engineering study of rig site data and make regular reports.
Recommend changes or improvements to the rig work techniques.
Cooperate with specialist contractors and suppliers, such as cement companies or suppliers of drilling fluids.
Monitor safety procedures and ensure the maintenance of the well.
Requirements:
10years+ relevant industry experience (prior Shale Gas exploration a distinct advantage).
Degree/MSc in any engineering field preferably Petroleum Engineering/ Drilling.
IWCF Certification at Supervisor level.
Demonstrate further experience in:
Hydraulic Fracturing.
Rig Planning.
Workover Engineering.
Well Intervention.
Ability to work within a collaborative environment and communicate at all levels and across business units.
Motivated, and a self-starter with a hard working approach.
Promote/undertake work activities in a safe manner.
Experience in HPHT is an added advantage.
