Job Description:


Account Executive to represent Harris RF Public Safety and Professional Communications products and services to all current and potential customers in OK, AR, and N. TX. Responsibilities include: prospecting, trade shows, channel partner management, presentations to individuals and groups, proposal preparation and contract negotiation. Primary focus is to plan, develop and execute sales strategies to meet assigned orders quota. AE will also be responsible for direct sales, within assigned territory, as well as management and support of in-direct sales channels. An Account Executive must be able to develop positive relationships at multiple levels within the customer's organization and work to influence customer specifications to gain competitive advantage. This position will also need to maintain existing assigned accounts and modify/create management records including: contact name, equipment history, orders history and orders forecasting. Other aspects of the position include gathering market intelligence on competitive activities including: products, pricing, strategies and tactics. The position requires ~40% overnight travel in territory with periods of week long absences when preparing bid responses or attending shows and seminars.










Qualifications:



  • Ability to function and influence at the State and local executive and legislative level.

  • Knowledge of the political buying processes

  • Knowledge of state and local finance issues

  • Technical background in communication or IT products

  • 5-10 years sales or domain experience with state government or public safety sales

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience.

  • Strong customer communication and relationship skills, strong public speaking and presentation skills, and problem solving skills.






Preferred Additional Skills



  • Public safety experience a plus

  • Previous successful sales experience in the large municipal market is desired.

  • Focus on current and emerging cellular technologies are a plus

  • LMR experience may be valuable
