The Director of Accounting main responsibilities are to partner with the Controller and Assistant Controller to ensure that reporting deadlines are met, and to ensure all accounting transactions are in line with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This role requires a thorough knowledge of accounting and key controls that ensure the integrity of the underlying accounting records.
Responsibilities: * Prepare and present consolidated Financial Statements in accordance with GAAP. * Ensure all reporting deadlines are met for submission of Consolidation of Financial Statements. * Monitor adherence to internal controls and direct internal audits that involve reviews of accounting records. * Oversee Accounting team to ensure proper actual / budget variance explanations on monthly P&L submissions. Communicate findings for future budgets/forecasts. * Establish tracking of I/C and ensure * Identify critical issues that must be raised to a higher level for decision making.
Skills & Competencies: * Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, especially Excel). * Hands-on detail-oriented position. * High level of interpersonal skills with demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy. * Must be a team player. * Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of management within the organization.
Qualifications: * BA/BS in Accounting. * CPA required. * Thorough understanding of GAAP fundamentals and SOX compliance. * Knowledge of Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) a plus. * SAP Systems a plus.
