Qualifications:Information Resources is seeking a System Analyst to join its Server and Storage Operations team. Candidate must possess a Bachelor''s degree (preferably in Information Technology) and 2 years relevant experience in Microsoft Windows 2003/2008 server operating systems, LAN administration, data infrastructure and server maintenance or a High School diploma, with 4 years of work experience in server and IT support, and associated system certifications (MCSE, VMware). Must also possess strong server troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Excellent analytical, organization, presentation, interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills.
Knowledge of VMware server virtualization, VMware cluster infrastructure, VSphere console, data store migrations, EMC Clarion array, Navisphere, fiber channel SAN infrastructure and storage migration preferred. Experience with scripting with Powershell and Visual Studio is also preferred.
Responsibilities:The selected candidate will be responsible for the administration of Microsoft Windows servers located in Corporate server farms and IR supported server rooms. The candidate will perform daily maintenance and troubleshooting of servers to ensure high availability and reliability of server operating systems, infrastructure and applications. Responsibilities also include installations, moves, adds and changes to server hardware, operating system and software; first-level and second level server troubleshooting and response; maintain server and storage equipment and interface with hardware vendors; install Microsoft patches and security updates; execute server security checklists and assign server permissions; provide new server technology support including server provisioning, server virtualization and storage area network management; install Host Bus Adaptors for storage environments; maintain server farm infrastructure; participate in disaster recovery exercises and drills; manage local and centralized backup tape libraries, backup agents and associated hardware.
The candidate is expected to provide off-hour, on-call support for server related issues on a rotating basis. The candidate must also be willing to work overtime and be flexible with work hours to respond to emergencies. The candidate must be flexible with working at different site locations.
