Qualifications:Finance is seeking to hire a Department Manager for the Tax organization. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting or Finance and a Master?s Degree in Taxation with eight years of tax experience, preferably with a Utility, or with a major corporation and strong knowledge of income tax accounting and income tax regulations. The successful candidate must have strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint), strong communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of management. The successful candidate must demonstrate leadership and managerial skills and abilities as well as the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Experience using ?Insource? income tax software and CPA preferred.
Must have a valid driver?s license. Must be willing and able to travel, as required.
Responsibilities:The selected individual will ensure implementation of Company safety, health and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed. Ensure that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations. Coordinates and reviews the preparation of all federal, state and local income tax returns. Coordinate and reviews the forecasting and preparation of income tax payments for the Company. Act as Primary Tax Department Liaison with Treasury on income tax cash matters. Responsible for income tax accounting and the tax footnote. The selected individual will have strong interaction with the staff members responsible for determining the federal, state and local income tax liability to various taxing authorities. Team with the Legal Department to discuss tax planning strategies and tax legislative strategies. Meet with other Tax managers and operating areas to implement tax planning strategies and new tax legislation. Review and analyze bulletins and tax service reports for new decisions, court cases and changes in law and determines their effect on the Company?s income tax position. Determine course of action, as appropriate. Perform special studies and administrative tasks, as required by the Vice President.
