Manager of Treasury Operations-New York
GMAC Financial Services is a global finance company operating in and servicing North America, South America, Europe and Asia-Pacific. GMAC specializes in automotive finance, real estate finance, insurance, commercial finance and online banking.
Reporting to the Director of Treasury Operations, this position as Manager of Treasury Operations is charged with overseeing the day to day clearing and settlement of equities. And other fixed income portfolios. This position will be responsible for ensuring the coordination between the front office (both GMACIM and Borrowings); Cash Operations and the Trading Product Management Group. Additionally responsible for the coordination of the enterprise wide, business-unit specific programs by leveraging project management tools (process maps, project plans, status reports etc.) and establish appropriate governance around projects.
Duties Include:
  • (50%) – Manage Treasury Operations Activities. Support and execute the trade confirmation and clearing process associated with equities and other fixed income products. Ensuring that the team operated within a controlled environment and is continually looking to improve the process to support the business needs.
  • (10%) - Lead team to ensure that all trades are established appropriately on the deal capture platform. Ensure that the team resolves trade disputes or errors with counterparties or internal groups in a timely manner. Follow-up and confirm appropriate actions were taken by the collateral and custody agents.
  • (10%) - Develop a process to verify appropriate trade related payments occur and are posted appropriately to the general ledger system.
  • (10%) – Participate in strategic initiatives including, Treasury reorganization (front, middle and back office) as well as other projects.
  • (10%) – Coordinate enterprise wide/business-unit specific programs by leveraging project management told (process maps, project plans, status projects etc.) and establish appropriate governance around all projects.
  • (10%) - Develop a process to verify appropriate trade related payments occur and are posted appropriately to the general ledger system.
    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Previous work experience utilizing finance or accounting degree very beneficial to the position. (10-15 years of experience preferred).
  • Experience in establishing best practices in relation to trade capture and settlement.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
  • High level of oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex projects.
